Tulum’s hotel Zone is a popular place—and not just amongst us plebeians (the majority of us), but also amongst the Hollywood types. Famous people like Leonardo DiCaprio, Madonna, and international billionaires visit Tulum on a regular basis—and they all stay at the hotel zone during their trip here! Cenotes

Pueblo (Downtown)
Downtown Tulum (a.k.a. “Pueblo” to the locals) is a fascinating mix of food, culture, and people. Take Care & Responsibility
Like most anything in life, you will be responsible for the scooter when in your possession. You need to treat the scooter as if it were your own. Customers often ask, “What happens if I have an accident?” Our response is always the same: ” What would happen if you crashed YOUR OWN scooter back home?”—Of course, you would have to pay for it to be repaired! It is the same with your Tulum scooter rental. If you crash it, of course, you have to pay for it! However, you can dramatically reduce your chances of ever having an accident by driving defensively and carefully during your time in Tulum. Easy.
Damage Deposit - CASH ONLY
In order to make sure that our customers treat their Tulum scooter rentals with respect, we require a $250 USD damage deposit. This keeps people in a responsible state of mind and makes sure that they don’t overtly abuse our lovely scooters. This damage deposit is returned at the end of your scooter rental period—so long as you return your Tulum scooter rental in the same condition that you received it. For your convenience,we accept USD or the equivalent in MXN or Euros. We do not accept credit cards for damage deposits.
Drive and Park Carefully
Drive carefully, treat the scooter with respect, & enjoy the moment. It’s all part of the adventure. What Dates & How Many Scooters?
The first thing we need to know is on what day she will need your scooters. We get very busy during the high season, so it is always best to let us know as far in advance as possible. You will also need to let us know how many scooters you need. As a general rule of thumb, the more scooters that you need, the earlier that you should reserve. However, in either case, we get very booked up during the high season, so it is best to reserve your Tulum scooter rental as far in advance as possible.
Quote & Deposit Payment Instructions
Once we verify availability on your requested dates, we send you a pricing quotation. Our prices are based on availability and tourist season. Like hotels & resorts, demand during the high season often outpaces supply. Consequently, we must raise our scooter rental price during these periods. However, once we agree on a price, reservation deposit payment instructions are sent to you & the reservation deposit payment is made via PayPal.
Pick Up Scooter On Specified Date/Time
Once your reservation deposit payment is made, your scooter is reserved for you—and you only. Clearly this is a better option than a “find out when we get there” approach to vacation planning. Upon arrival (and at the specified time), you come to pick up your rental scooter. As mentioned above, we use GoMart as our pickup/drop-off point. The location is both central & easy to find. So easy in fact, that we have never had a customer get lost! Simply click on the link & walk or take a taxi to the point on the map. Easy.
Pay Remaining Balance & Damage Deposit
Now that you’ve met up with us or one of our delivery guys, you will need to pay the remaining balance (Total Rental Amount – Reservation Deposit). This must be paid in CASH ONLY. We accept either USD or the equivalent in Mexican pesos. In addition, you will need to leave a damage deposit of $250 USD. Again, the damage deposit must be paid in CASH ONLY. For the damage deposit, you can leave USD—or the equivalent in MXN/EUROS (as it will be returned to you at the end of your rental contract, so long as the scooter is returned in the same condition that you received it.).

Good Pair of Sunglasses
Eyewear is not mandatory in Mexico. While you must (by law) wear a helmet while riding a scooter in Tulum, sunglasses our safety glasses are not absolute necessary. However, we strongly suggest wearing some sort of eyewear to protect against dust, pebbles, our even rocks that may get launched by other vehicles on the road in Tulum. Safety is first when it comes to renting a scooter in Tulum, and some sort of glasses will help keep your eyes safe.
Comfortable Shoes
The whole point of a Tulum scooter rental is getting around quickly & easily without having to walk everywhere, right? Absolutely correct! So, why good shoes? Although you will likely see people riding scooters in flip-flops or even barefoot, we strongly recommend that you wear some solid and sturdy shoes. A good pair of comfortable shoes will provide you with the ability to stabilize your Tulum scooter rental more than any flip-flop could ever offer. Even as longtime locals, we never ride a scooter without either quality shoes or boots. You shouldn’t either.
50+ SPF Sunscreen Lotion
Whether or not you are self-obsessed with beauty or you just give a damn about your health, we strongly recommend taking care of your skin while on your Tulum scooter rentals. The Caribbean sun will be pervasive throughout your vacation. You cannot avoid it. Although a fair amount of sun is actually good for you, too much can be harmful. This is why we recommend wearing a strong SPF sun screen lotion (sun cream in British English). An SPF factor of 50+ will work best.
Cell Phone With Internet Access
Cell phones are ubiquitous nowadays. Watch a crowd of people & you will see that most people are glued to them like flies to human waste. Don’t be those people—especially during your beautiful vacation to Tulum. With that said, we strongly recommend having a working cell phone with you to use in case of emergency. That means either installing a local sim card or making sure that your cell phone service provider offers service in the Tulum area. Very helpful if necessary during emergencies or run-ins with the local police.
